New Year, New Caravan, New Adventure

Finally! After all the struggle, the caravan is complete! We've set it up, learned all about it, and now it's only ten days before we set off for the big lap. I love the van, it's really cozy and homely inside, yet tough'n'rough on the outside. I'm really excited to go around our country, but it blows my mind to actually think, "We're going to do this in just ten days!" We might have some trouble, or we might have lots of fun, we might get sick of each other, or we might love each others company; either way, this is the trip of a lifetime... and you'll be with us along the way!

  Okay... maybe it was clickbait. Scsitneits exlapin taht you're albe to raed sfutf lkie tihs, eevn tguohh the spilleng is ruibbsh. Why am I brigning tihs up? I dnnuo. Cairns was great. Not as great as my hairdresser made it out to be, but still, great. Then again, we didn't do the things she told us to do. We weren't staying in the city of Cairns, but we were close. We did a lot of bike riding, going to water's edge-ing, and trying the Mcdonalds custard raspberry pie thingo. ANYBOG, the park we staying at was right next to a nice creek, we walked and rode down there a lot, so that was cool. What was cooler though was the things we did in Cairns City. On one day we went out to lunch a seafood place on the water's edge. On another day, we took a walk along the boardwalk. There's this place called the Lagoon, which is a massive public pool with sand for a floor. Basically, it's an artificial mini ocean where the crocs don't shine. It had a really good atmo...

HERE WE GO AGAIN.

  Here we go again.... Hullo peoples. Cooper here, the King of Bogs. I know, I know, big deal Fun fact: we are going on another trip around Australia. Yes, you read that correctly. We are GOIN' AGAIN! Last time we travelled through South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia, and back home. But THIS time, we're gonna be checking out what we missed last time, which is the East Coast! We're going to zoom up to the top of Queensland, than slowly making our way down the coast. Never did I think a shopping centre would be so cool… [Treasure Island]

  I like me some treasure. That treasure be gold. The Gold Coast. After leaving our friends (very tragic) we went to Treasure Island, near Surfers Paradise. And oh boy, this caravan park was the most kid-friendly park I have ever seen. - One pool, with a slide. - Another pool, with a water fall. - A third pool because why not.. - A splash park. - Basketball court. - Outdoor cinema. - Jumping PILLOW. - Mini golf. - Go karts. - In-park restaurant. - Staff run activities. - Multiple playgrounds. I could go on. Anyway, apart from the caravan park, the actual location was honestly a bit “meh”. It was nice, don’t get me wrong, but this was the first place that felt like a city. Or, Surfers Paradise did, anyway. Treasure Island was alright . While we were here, we met up with a cousin of mine, Nick. The most creative name in history!.. ToWnSvIlLe.✨ [Townsville]

First person to name this font in the comments gets a virtual cookie. Now, I'm not trying to poke fun at anyone who lives in Townsville, but seriously, what is up with the name? I know it's was named after someone's last name being Towns, but in my opinion, Townsville sounds like the the most generic place in existence. If I heard "Townsville" and didn't know what it was, I'd think it was the absolute DEFAULT setting for a town. Except, that is not the case. Far from it. Townsville is great, my friends. So, let's talk about the place itself. Townsville was super cool, it remined me a lot of Palm Cove, back at Ellis Beach, but I think that was just because of the road being next to the water. Hervey Bay! Check it out! [Hervey Bay & K'gari]

Stuff Day. Yo. Cooper here. Did you know that Hervey Bay is cool? In case you didn't allow me to teach you; Hervey Bay is cool. Now that you know, let's talk about it. One of the main attractions of Hervey Bay is K'gari, previously known as Fraser Island. It recently had an official name change, and K'gari is pronounced like "Curry" but with a G instead of a C. The K is silent.  We headed over to K'gari by first getting picked up from a caravan park via bus, then taken over to the island by ferry, and then hopping into a 4-wheel-drive bus. We had to do a lot of sitting. The bus ride was very bumpy, and very long, but after a while we arrived at one of the towns. Our driver then took us down the beach, where we could take a look at the Maheno Shipwreck. Before that, however, us three took a fifteen minute plane ride over the island. The Air is full of Midgies! [Airlie Beach]

  Try our new special, Sunshine with a side of Awe! Airlie Beach. Very slay, as they say.  Airlie Beach had a really awesome feel in the town. There was a market every Saturday, heaps of amazing restaurants, and grass clearing next to the water. In our time, we explored the market, when on bike rides, went on some sunset cruises of debatable quality, and MORE. （⊙ｏ⊙） - One sunset cruise was nice… but just nice. After the sunset, all that was left to do was sit and wait to dock again while listening to cringe music. I don't even know what you would even call the music. Bog. - Dad & I were planning to go JetSki-ing at some point but the company said the  the water was too choppy,  so they suggested we didn’t go. Second bog. I was looking forward to that. Anyway, m y favourite part of Airlie Beach was just the atmosphere. The waterfront cafes, the bars, everything was just so alive. Contact Has Been Made! [Coffin Bay]

  Ahhh! I’m so excited! For so long, the four only had each other, no other friends to chat to in person, no other family to hug, until… Ello. I liked Coffin Bay. Not because of the actual place, though it was nice, but because of what we did there. One of my brothers, Taylor, and his girlfriend, Shannon, met us here! At the time of writing, they’re actually still with us. It’s been really good to finally see people who we know in person. I’ve been loving this trip, but the last few weeks I have been a little… peoplesick? Is that a word? I don’t know. Probably not. While we were here, the five of us did an oyster tour, where we put on these waders and walked in the bay over to a pontoon. Once we were there, we learned about, shucked, and ate oysters. Though I may have not done the last one. Maybe some day.  We’ve been playing Up & Down The River every night, which has been really fun, and I’ve also put on this really nice jumper which for some reason I haven’t worn at all,...

More contact has been made! [Friends' Place & Victor Harbour]

  And so, our time with Taylor and Shannon has ended... but the trip must go on! Yeesh, those titles are so dramatic. I will admit though, I am very sad that they're gone. It was good having some more people around. Anyway, after Hahndorf, where Taylor and Shannon drove away and left us, we headed to Charleston, which wasn't very far away, only about a 20 minute drive. Fun fact; one of our old friends lives here, so we stayed at their farm. Whew, their farm... Had more than a few vehicles. I estimate... 2 million utes, 5 thousand buggies, 3 hundred tractors, and... I'm kidding. But still, there was a lot of  motor-mayhem happening here. Besides the odd amount of vehicles, we had a good time, excluding Mum, who had terrible hayfever. Next stop, Victor Harbour! Since Coffin Bay, this is the first location where it was just us again. Rain... THE MOVIE!!! [Ellis Beach]

A certain someone will understand that title. You witness a master at work. A master at doing something incredible. Something most don't have the time to do. Something most do not have the dedication to perform. That something... is writing a useless intro about masters at work. Anyway, let's talk about Ellis Beach. It is great. The caravan park is on the beach, literally. You can walk off a site and you'll be on the sand. Our site was pretty damn good, and we could always hear the waves. But, it's all very fun and games until you realise it was raining the WHOLE TIME.  It's such a nice spot, but the weather just decided to take a massive bog on it. Bruh. On the first day, we went to the nearby Palm Cove for a walk with Jazzy. Palm Cove is noice. Very noice. It wasn't raining there, because why not, WEATHERMAN?  So we hung out for a little while.
