If You Thought Lake Boga was Big... [Lake Argyle]


Omigosh. This is massive. 

Those were my first words when we arrived at this place. If you've been reading my blogs then you'll know that I thought Lake Boga was really huge. Now seeing Lake Argyle, Lake Boga looks like a fly. Seriously, this lake was gigantic. But getting the size out of the way, it was beautiful. 

We stayed at the Lake Argyle Resort, and just to be specific about the one I'm talking about, it's the one with the famous, super instagram-able infinity pool. It's the one with Steve Case, the musician, performing "Hot Potato" every night at the bar. It's the one with all the pretty frangipanis. Y'know, it's that one which is the ONLY RESORT THERE. Like everywhere, it was warm 24-7, (I'm going to stop saying that,) and had live music every night - Steve Case - who likes to sing "Big Red Car" for an audience completely made up of adults.

We took a boat tour onto the lake, saw the sights, and swam... with TWENTYFIVE THOUSAND crocodiles!.. and believe it or not, it was Mum who decided to go in first! They were only freshies, but they're still crocs!

I loved our time at Lake Argyle and I would definitely go again. Below are some photos, so feel free to take a look;

How to melt an infant. (Definitely legal!!!) [Innot Hot Springs]

  Toasty. What would happen if you dropped an uncooked steak into a burning hot spring... would it cook? Maybe turn into a stir fry? What about scare everyone out of the hot spring because they thought that lil' Jimmy had an accident? Well, unfortunately we're not gonna find out. That might be a good thing actually, the steak would taste like rock water.. . Anybog, when we were at Innot Hot Springs, we found out that hotspring + closetoourcaravan = verygood . The caravan park we were staying at was home to a hot spring, which was then divided into six pools. Each pool is a different temperature, so you could spend an hour comparing them. Except the hottest 2 were adults only so no kids burn their toenails off. Bog. When we arrived, we very quickly set up and then headed over to the pools. Oof. This is awesome. [Esperance]

  RAC really outdid themselves this time. Okay, so I know the last two blogs have been a bit, er, short and boring, but to tell the truth, I really didn't have much to say for those locations! Esperance, however, is a different story. We stayed at an RAC park, which always have a reputation for being really nice. This park did NOT ignore that reputation. The camp kitchens were so lovely, we actually used  them! Can you believe that? Us - use the camp kitchen! Incredible! Oh, and the pool is warm for once. I'm actually writing this in the camp kitchen. Esperance has some fantastic beaches, on our first day, which should really be a travelling day but we came a day early, we drove around a loop which showed off all the beachs. Blue Haven, Salmon Beach, Twilight Beach, this beach, that beach, oh mah gawd there's a lot. All of them, however, were magnificent! Rocks, cliffs, SAND, they have it all! Rain... THE MOVIE!!! [Ellis Beach]

A certain someone will understand that title. You witness a master at work. A master at doing something incredible. Something most don't have the time to do. Something most do not have the dedication to perform. That something... is writing a useless intro about masters at work. Anyway, let's talk about Ellis Beach. It is great. The caravan park is on the beach, literally. You can walk off a site and you'll be on the sand. Our site was pretty damn good, and we could always hear the waves. But, it's all very fun and games until you realise it was raining the WHOLE TIME.  It's such a nice spot, but the weather just decided to take a massive bog on it. Bruh. On the first day, we went to the nearby Palm Cove for a walk with Jazzy. Palm Cove is noice. Very noice. It wasn't raining there, because why not, WEATHERMAN?  So we hung out for a little while. The Air is full of Midgies! [Airlie Beach]

  Try our new special, Sunshine with a side of Awe! Airlie Beach. Very slay, as they say.  Airlie Beach had a really awesome feel in the town. There was a market every Saturday, heaps of amazing restaurants, and grass clearing next to the water. In our time, we explored the market, when on bike rides, went on some sunset cruises of debatable quality, and MORE. （⊙ｏ⊙） - One sunset cruise was nice… but just nice. After the sunset, all that was left to do was sit and wait to dock again while listening to cringe music. I don't even know what you would even call the music. Bog. - Dad & I were planning to go JetSki-ing at some point but the company said the  the water was too choppy,  so they suggested we didn’t go. Second bog. I was looking forward to that. Anyway, m y favourite part of Airlie Beach was just the atmosphere. The waterfront cafes, the bars, everything was just so alive. Hervey Bay! Check it out! [Hervey Bay & K'gari]

Stuff Day. Yo. Cooper here. Did you know that Hervey Bay is cool? In case you didn't allow me to teach you; Hervey Bay is cool. Now that you know, let's talk about it. One of the main attractions of Hervey Bay is K'gari, previously known as Fraser Island. It recently had an official name change, and K'gari is pronounced like "Curry" but with a G instead of a C. The K is silent.  We headed over to K'gari by first getting picked up from a caravan park via bus, then taken over to the island by ferry, and then hopping into a 4-wheel-drive bus. We had to do a lot of sitting. The bus ride was very bumpy, and very long, but after a while we arrived at one of the towns. Our driver then took us down the beach, where we could take a look at the Maheno Shipwreck. Before that, however, us three took a fifteen minute plane ride over the island. HERE WE GO AGAIN.

  Here we go again.... Hullo peoples. Cooper here, the King of Bogs. I know, I know, big deal Fun fact: we are going on another trip around Australia. Yes, you read that correctly. We are GOIN' AGAIN! Last time we travelled through South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia, and back home. But THIS time, we're gonna be checking out what we missed last time, which is the East Coast! We're going to zoom up to the top of Queensland, than slowly making our way down the coast. Never did I think a shopping centre would be so cool… [Treasure Island]

  I like me some treasure. That treasure be gold. The Gold Coast. After leaving our friends (very tragic) we went to Treasure Island, near Surfers Paradise. And oh boy, this caravan park was the most kid-friendly park I have ever seen. - One pool, with a slide. - Another pool, with a water fall. - A third pool because why not.. - A splash park. - Basketball court. - Outdoor cinema. - Jumping PILLOW. - Mini golf. - Go karts. - In-park restaurant. - Staff run activities. - Multiple playgrounds. I could go on. Anyway, apart from the caravan park, the actual location was honestly a bit “meh”. It was nice, don’t get me wrong, but this was the first place that felt like a city. Or, Surfers Paradise did, anyway. Treasure Island was alright . While we were here, we met up with a cousin of mine, Nick. We had lunch with him, and then walked down the beach, as there was currently an art festival thingo, so there was a bunch of artworks to look at, though some were better than others. Some pie...

The show has begun! [Darlington Point]

  And so it begins... Hoi guys. I'm writing this in the car to Bourke, and we are VIBRATING. Google decided to take us on a dirt track because of some closed road and let me tell you, the wheels on the car are going round and round, round and round. Too much. Anybog, now that the road has smoothened out, let me get back to the story. Now where was I... right. I hadn't started yet. The first location on our trip was Darlington Point. We stayed there for 2 nights, and it was mostly just getting back into the swing of van life. On the full day, we took a stroll next to the Murrumbidgee River. Then we drove to Griffith, a nearby Italian town. There was a lot of Italian cafes but a lot of them weren't very appealing, so we found a snug lil' place called Limone. "Eh eh eh.
