Captain Cook SUCKS. MIC DROP. [Cooktown]

Image
Australian history is very #Bog 🎶We are at Cooktown, The very best place, For going to a museum, And looking at Cap'n's Cook's FACE. I did a song before in a blog, And it was much better, If you want to see that-a one, Click on this letter -->  A.  🎶 We stayed at Cooktown for a WHILE. As in, 6 whole days. That kind of while. Turns out, it was a pretty good amount of time. So, it's time to go full Blogger God Mode. We woke up on day one and went to the market in the morning for breakfast, but just like the movie "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Part Two: The De-anisaurs Attack" , it wasn't particularly amazing. We had also visited the lookout at the top of a mountain because why not. We went to the Botanical Gardens because I wanted to LEAF the van for a little while. ಥ_ಥ It seemed to have a very big theme on the colour red. The Botanical Gardens also led to a 'lil walking track, so went down that hoping to find a crocodile. Unfortunately we...

How to melt an infant. (Definitely legal!!!) [Innot Hot Springs]

Image
Toasty. What would happen if you dropped an uncooked steak into a burning hot spring... would it cook? Maybe turn into a stir fry? What about scare everyone out of the hot spring because they thought that lil' Jimmy had an accident? Well, unfortunately we're not gonna find out. That might be a good thing actually, the steak would taste like rock water.. . Anybog, when we were at Innot Hot Springs, we found out that hotspring + closetoourcaravan = verygood . The caravan park we were staying at was home to a hot spring, which was then divided into six pools. Each pool is a different temperature, so you could spend an hour comparing them. Except the hottest 2 were adults only so no kids burn their toenails off. Bog. When we arrived, we very quickly set up and then headed over to the pools. After that we headed off for a walk, saw a sign that literally said,  "PVRAITE PROEPTRY" ... and found the "Knowledge Tree"... which was very knowledgeable. You can tell b...

A prophecy scribed into the fabric of the universe. [Hughenden]

Image
THE PROPHECY OF THE PYRAMID HAS COME. O nce upon a time, the pyramid of rock etched a prophecy into it's very stone, to serve the people of the world a warning of what would birth into it's future. The prophecy read that a  powerful text would be born, one blessed with the ability to change to it's master's will. When one would read such a thing, they would begin to lose brain cells by the minute. That is why the pyramid warned humanity so they could prepare for this monstrosity.     So. That text MAY or may not be this blog. ಥ_ಥ Sorry about that. ANYWAY Hughenden was pretty cool. It was our first taste of warm weather, and I would like to order more. We stayed there for 2 nights, a.k.a. 1 full day, and on that day Dad & I went ExPlOrInG. We checked out the Porkypine Gorge. It wasn't the best gorge we've ever seen, but it was still fun to walk around. It was like a big ravine type gorge that cut through the flat landscape. It took like 500 stairs to get do...

TRIPLE BANGER!!! Chickens, Planes, and Dinosaurs! [Tambo, Longreach, & Winton]

Image
Our chicken is USELESS!      Hi! Cooper snooper here. This blog is on three locations, because I just learned the other day that 3 is greater than 1. There's no particular reason, it's not like these places are linked or anything, it's simply because we didn't stay at any of them for very long, so I'm putting them together to create an even larger pile of garbage for you to read. LET'S BEGIN. Tambo Tambo was a lil' town that we stayed at for 1 night after Charlotte Plains. It didn't have anything too special about it, except for one thing. Before dinner, we went to Ben's Chicken Racing. Like the name suggests, there was 12 chickens - all dyed different colours - racing laps around the Schnitzel Stadium. They all had very stupid names, like Apricot Chicken, who I promise is named after her dye colour and nothing else.  You could bet on a chicken, so we bet on "Sparkles" who was absolutely USELESS! 😡😡😡 #OurChickenRacerWasReallyBad Cheati...

My Tutorial On How to roast potatoes and transform into Shrek. (Very good tutorial) [Charlotte Plains & Artesian Hotsprings]

Image
And now you just rub it all in... Ello', Frank Walker from National Tiles. Just kidding, it's Cooper. We don't have the popularity or the budget to get Frank Walker up in here. Anyway, Charlotte Plains (a.k.a. the Artesian Hot springs) was rainy, but great. At the top of the field, there's three pipes PUMPING hot water into a little river. That river water than goes into bathtubs. So you can hang out in either the river itself, or be boring sit in a bathtub. All of it is naturally heated by lava, so it's pretty damn warm. It was raining for most of the time we were here, but I actually liked it. It made being outside cold, so then the hot spring felt hotter. I liked swimming about in the river hot spring, which was actually really shallow. There's a part of it that's filled with Green Mud, which is the real muddy stuff. I found some friends who shall not be named and we turned each other into Shrek... real mature, I know. We also made a BUSSIN' campfir...

How to Comment

Hey Everyone! This is a quick notice on how to comment on any blog or page you like. If you scroll down to the bottom of any blog or page, you'll see a comments section. BUT before you write anything, there's something you should do. When you click into the type-box, a drop list called "Comment As" will appear. Click on that, and select "Name/URL". Type in your name, and now that'll appear on your comments. If you don't do this, then your comments will be anonymous, and I like seeing who's who, so anonymous comments make me sad. 😔 Anyway, feel free to comment on as many blogs as you like! Just keep things friendly. Cooper out. Try it out here:

ThIs PlAcE iS aMaZiNg! [Bourke]

Image
Bruh. Bourke is... interesting. We were going to stay for 2 nights, but we've changed our plans. Now we're headed to Charlotte Plains early. What I'm saying is, you can't write a good review for Bourke without lying. COME TO BOURKE, THE ULTIMATE GETAWAY! ENJOY HEAPS OF FUN ACTIVITIES, SUCH AS TRYING TO FIND A PLACE TO GET DINNER. SPOILER ALERT, THERE'S ONLY TWO. AND ONE OF THEM IS A PUB. THE OTHER IS CHINESE. TAKE A STROLL DOWN THE DOG OVERUN STREETS, AND HAVE FUN SAYING TO YOUR FRIENDS THAT YOU'RE IN THE BACK OF BOURKE. THIS PLACE MAKES GOTHAM CITY SEEM NICE. COME TODAY! I don't mean to offend anyone who lives there, but Bourke needs a glow up badly. Anyway, since we only stayed there for a night, we didn't do much but have dinner and go back to van. \_(ツ)_/ I'm writing this in the car to Charlotte Plains now, actually. We woke up pretty early yesterday (when we were still at Darlington Point) to go to Bourke, so we were driving in darkness. That ...

The show has begun! [Darlington Point]

Image
And so it begins... Hoi guys. I'm writing this in the car to Bourke, and we are VIBRATING. Google decided to take us on a dirt track because of some closed road and let me tell you, the wheels on the car are going round and round, round and round. Too much. Anybog, now that the road has smoothened out, let me get back to the story. Now where was I... right. I hadn't started yet. The first location on our trip was Darlington Point. We stayed there for 2 nights, and it was mostly just getting back into the swing of van life. On the full day, we took a stroll next to the Murrumbidgee River. Then we drove to Griffith, a nearby Italian town. There was a lot of Italian cafes but a lot of them weren't very appealing, so we found a snug lil' place called Limone. "Eh eh eh. Is a  limone!" *eats it and dies* ... but yeah, it was really cosy and the food was chef's kiss. The sourdough with balsamic and oil was to die for. We had also read that Griffith had a sculpt...

HERE WE GO AGAIN.

Here we go again.... Hullo peoples. Cooper here, the King of Bogs. I know, I know, big deal Fun fact: we are going on another trip around Australia. Yes, you read that correctly. We are GOIN' AGAIN! Last time we travelled through South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia, and back home. But THIS time, we're gonna be checking out what we missed last time, which is the East Coast! We're going to zoom up to the top of Queensland, than slowly making our way down the coast. You can see where we're going  here,  or via the Map Tab on the blog home page. When I say "we" I mean my Dad (Troy),  my Mum (Lorna or LJ), my dog (Jaz a.k.a. BogDog) and me, Cooper. In our awesome van, we spent half of 2022 away from home, and now we're spending a quarter of 2023 doing the same - just in Queensland and New South Wales this time. This blog may have seemed quite formal, but to be honest, this is a one of a kind. I try to make my blogs funny and interesting to ...

Next Stop on the Grand Princess... [Christchurch]

Image
Christchurch 🎶 Boots in cats, boots in cats, Boots in cats, boots in cats, Boots in cats, boots in cats, Yeah, les goh Water is falling, from-the-sky It is really cold - dun-no-why Maybe there’s a fridge - up in the clouds Making it colder - than it sounds. 🎶 Mm. We’re vibing. Anyway, Christchurch, as stated by my masterpiece of a song, was raining at the time when we docked there. Yesterday we were at Dunedin, and today we have docked at Christchurch, our second Port Day. Whooo. Christchurch used to be a lovely old fashioned town, but due to the massive earthquake 12 years ago in 2011, they’ve had to rebuild the entire city. Unfortunately, it is not what it used to be. - Mum, 2023 We checked out the indoor market, which I thought was actually pretty sick. Heaps of wooden stalls, some really creative seats, and Veggie Guy Bobby all reside there.  After that, we walked to the church!  Which was… in scaffolding. How beautiful. As it was still raining, we looked around fo...

All Aboard the Grand Princess! [Dunedin]

Image
Dunedin YES. THE. BLOG. IS. BACK!!! Ba ba ba baaaaaa! I hope everybody is doing goooood. These next few blogs are going to be about my time on the Grand Princess Cruise Ship - which is going to New Zealand - with Mum, Dad, and my Nana and Poppa. Except you probably don’t care about the ship, and this blog is called Travel Monkey, so I’m just gonna talk about the offshore excursions we’ll have. If you do want a ship blog, then say so in the comments! Please, I want comments… Anyway, Dunedin was our first port after three days at sea. We hopped off the ship, and grabbed a shuttle bus to town for… 35 DOLLARS EACH?!?! Bah, can’t be bothered walking. Poppa kept on talking about once you pay the money, you can ride back and forth however many times you want, though I’m not sure when you’d use that… One bus trip later and we arrived in a very pretty park.  … we left immediately. Anybog, we went to the rail station, which was alright. It was filled up with tiles upon tiles, stained ...

The Travel Express has arrived at it's last stop... home.

Image
Home. Hi, everyone! We have arrived back home, and our trip around (most of) Australia has come to an end. I had an absolute blast and I know my Mum, Dad, & BogDogJaz did too. In fact, Dad is very sad that we're not travelling anymore. But, it's been awesome being able to see people again, friends and family. I've returned to school, and I actually got the role as School Captain in 2023! It's also been great being back in our house again... it's been a while, eh? If you followed my blogs, or just checked out a few, I feel very happy that I was able to share my trip with you. I hope I made you laugh and have a good time, as I try to make my blogs enjoyable to read. It's nearing Christmas at the time of writing, and we've got the home decorated and ready. I'm not sure if anyone will even see this blog in time, but if you are reading this in the next 3 days, then Merry Christmas! Our trip may have come to an end, but why be sad that it ended when you ...

More contact has been made! [Friends' Place & Victor Harbour]

Image
And so, our time with Taylor and Shannon has ended... but the trip must go on! Yeesh, those titles are so dramatic. I will admit though, I am very sad that they're gone. It was good having some more people around. Anyway, after Hahndorf, where Taylor and Shannon drove away and left us, we headed to Charleston, which wasn't very far away, only about a 20 minute drive. Fun fact; one of our old friends lives here, so we stayed at their farm. Whew, their farm... Had more than a few vehicles. I estimate... 2 million utes, 5 thousand buggies, 3 hundred tractors, and... I'm kidding. But still, there was a lot of  motor-mayhem happening here. Besides the odd amount of vehicles, we had a good time, excluding Mum, who had terrible hayfever. Next stop, Victor Harbour! Since Coffin Bay, this is the first location where it was just us again. We stayed here for 3 days, and while Mum and Dad were chillin', I was working on a School Captain speech for when I get back to school, as I...
